How can you reduce workplace harassment and increase cross gender mentoring relationships?
Over the past two years, the topic of harassment and sexual harassment in particular has become an increasing concern for leaders – not only in regard to their own personal behavior but also regarding the overall reputation of their organization as a harassment-free and woman-friendly workplace. A call to action for university presidents and professors, as well as corporate executives and supervisors, the #MeToo movement has had good and bad outcomes at the level of the organization itself and society in general. Some of the good outcomes include a heightened awareness of gender and power issues, clearer policies and procedures, and attention to workplace culture. On the flip side, the bad and ugly may include increased social media outings of both victims and accused harassers and a decrease in the willingness of leaders to mentor across gender lines. This webinar will focus on the above issues in general and specifically on recent research regarding mentoring willingness and harassment concerns. Specific strategies to reduce workplace harassment and increase cross gender mentoring relationships will be examined.
