Cynthia created a global conference designed to deeply engage individuals and groups and fundamentally evolve the science and practice of leadership and build a global community of innovation and collaboration. She discusses the conference and the underlying invitation to for leaders to continue to explore this very important topic by engaging in the difficult process of personal growth as leaders continuing to strive to improve our craft of leadership. We explored some of the themes this community is facing and the hopeful environment we both experienced. While we face ever increasing complexity in our globe, we continue to build solutions to address that complexity with researchers, educators and practitioners. Ajay shares his insights about the need to create mutually beneficial exchanges between countries, particularly in terms of migration. This theme is of importance with the current migration issues and t the discussion for broader questions of inclusion, peace and security.

Cynthia Cherrey

Cynthia Cherrey, President and CEO of the International Leadership Association (ILA), a global network of leadership scholars, educators, and practitioners. Previously, Cynthia served as Vice President and Lecturer in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. She publishes in the areas of leadership, organizational development, and higher education including co-authoring Systemic Leadership: Enriching the Meaning of our Work, co-editing ILA’s Building Leadership Bridges book series, and her most recent publication is Women and Leadership around the World (co-editor). She is a Fellow at the World Business Academy and a recipient of a J.W. Fulbright Scholarship.
Cynthia’s interests and research explore new ways to live, work, and lead in a knowledge driven, interdependent, global society. She consults and speaks to for-profit and non-profit organizations around the world on leadership and organizational change

Ajay Bramdeo

Ajay Bramdeo is the African Union Ambassador to the European Union. In his current position as the AU Ambassador to the EU, Bramdeo is working to overcome the historical legacy of relations between Africa and Europe to establish more mutually beneficial exchanges between the two continents, particularly, in recent years, in terms of mitigation. He is also engaged in ensuring that Africa’s voice carries weight within larger global systems for governance such as the United Nations and global conversations around peace and security.
