About Jessica Chung

Jessica Chung is Interim Director and Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator for the Leadership Minor at University of Minnesota. She first connected with the Minor in 2011 and has been passionate about leadership education since. Since receiving her Master’s degree at Bowling Green State University, Jessica began teaching, developing curriculum, supporting instructor development, and overseeing marketing efforts. She co-leads the study abroad course in Bali, Indonesia to study globalization and culture during May term. In her publications, she explores Asian-American leader identity and how we might expand the definition of a leader in all levels of our organizations as well as disrupting dominant culture in our processes and systems. She hopes to help create a world where students see themselves and others as a gift. You’ll probably find her at an ice cream shop, at a dance class, geeking out over her Bullet Journal, or at yet another musical.

About Christie Navarro

Christie Navarro is the Director for the Center for Leadership Learning. Christie is very passionate about leadership education and the evolving discipline of leadership studies. Prior to her tenure at UC Davis, Christie served as the California state representative for the college admission testing organization ACT, as a regional outreach coordinator for UC Merced Early Academic Outreach Program, and as a case manager for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Tulare County. Christie earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Higher Educational Leadership from California State University, Sacramento. In addition to leadership, Christie is also very passionate about civic engagement, social justice, and developing a global mindset. She is an avid traveler and enjoys learning about other countries and their cultures.

About the Hosts

Lauren Bullock is an Assistant Professor of Instruction at Temple University, where she teaches leadership development and public relations courses. Before transitioning to full-time faculty, Lauren led the university’s leadership development co-curricular programs for six years. Before joining Temple in 2008, Lauren worked in athletic administration at Florida State University and the University of Texas at Austin.

Dan Jenkins is Professor of Leadership & Organizational Studies at the University of Southern Maine. He received his doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration from the University of South Florida. Dan has published more than 40 articles and book chapters on leadership education and is the co-author of The Role of Leadership Educators: Transforming Learning. As an award-winning international speaker and facilitator, Dan has engaged thousands of leadership educators, students, and professionals on topics such as leadership pedagogy, followership, and curriculum and course design. Dan is also a past Chair of the ILA Leadership Education MIG, Co-Founder of the ILA Leadership Education Academy, Co-Host of The Leadership Educator Podcast, Vice-Chair of the Collegiate Leadership Competition, and Co-Lead of the Association of Leadership Educators Teaching & Pedagogy/Andragogy Focus Area Network.
