Book Buzz from The International Leadership Association 2023 Global Conference. Author Frank L. Douglas discusses his book Until You Walk in My Shoes: A Reframing Methodology to Overcome Systemic Discrimination.

The book introduces and demonstrates the importance of three new concepts in Addressing Systemic Discrimination. These are Focus on the Individual, Evolution of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) to Equity, Inclusion and Individual Engagement(EIIE) and Safe Haven Dialogues (SHD) Reframing Process. The book also describes the contributions of Equity and Inclusion in determining the psychological safety of an organization and offers the Equity-Inclusion Culture Matrix as a tool to assess these cultures. The book uses a series of case studies of Discrimination, drawn from across the professional spectrum, to illustrate the above concepts. In concert with the Safe Haven Dialogues’ VIP (Victors Over Injustice in their Professions) panel, the author takes the reader through the SHD Reframing Process to arrive at a Better Problem to Solve, thus effectuating the Desired Outcome.
