With Denny Roberts and Elnura Irmatova (Moderator) and special guests: Kathy Guthrie, Oliver Seale, and Jay Gary
Cost: Free everyone. This webinar is sponsored by ILA’s Committee for the Advancement of Leadership Programs
- 5 May 2026, 10:00-11:15 AM EDT (UTC-4)
Leadership education stands at a crossroads. Around the world, economic instability, political polarization, declining institutional trust, technological disruption, and deep socio-philosophical shifts are reshaping what leadership means—and what it demands. Yet many leadership programs still operate from models designed for a different era. The question is no longer whether leadership education must adapt, but how—and how quickly.
This interactive webinar brings leadership educators and practitioners together to explore what this moment requires of us. Grounded in the International Leadership Association (ILA) General Principles for Leadership Programs (2nd Ed., 2026), the session will examine why these Principles remain highly relevant—and how they must be intentionally operationalized in light of today’s global realities.
Through framing insights, panel dialogue, and interactive reflection, we will confront the urgency of the present moment while identifying concrete pathways forward. Participants will engage with pressing questions: What has fundamentally changed in the environments our students and leaders face? What responsibilities do leadership educators now carry? And how can the ILA’s General Principles serve not as static guidelines, but as a living framework for innovation and reform?
This session is designed not just to inform—but to activate.
Participants will:
- Recognize the urgency for adapting leadership education in a time of global disruption and declining trust
- Gain practical strategies to operationalize the ILA General Principles in program design, pedagogy, and assessment
- Develop shared language to engage colleagues and institutions in meaningful reform
- Leave with at least one concrete, actionable step to advance leadership education in their own context
Join us to help shape what’s next for leadership learning—and to position your work at the forefront of that transformation.
