Leaders don’t matter as much as we think they do! A bold statement to be sure, but even management guru W. E. Deming asserted that 94% of organizational outcomes are systems driven while only 6% are people driven. This session explores ten key principles of followership from the presenters’ recently published book, Essentials of Followership. Among those principles include the assertion that followers matter just as much as leaders, and that good followers possess many of the same characteristics as effective leaders. Leaders + Followers + Organizational Context + Purpose represent the leadership system. Each part is important and essential.
