As the new U.S. administration reshapes both domestic and international relationships in concert with the concomitant rise of a tech oligarchy, how should leadership program coordinators in education or industry respond to these shifts? Join us for an insightful discussion featuring perspectives on the changing landscape of U.S. leadership from the Global South. Our distinguished panelists will share perspectives from their programs on navigating current contexts, particularly in terms of the global resurgence of nationalism fueled by economic populism. This webinar is hosted by the International Leadership Association’s (ILA’s) Committee for the Advancement of Leadership Programs, which forwards the work of ILA’s General Principles for Leadership Programs (2021), beginning with the first principle of understanding your “Context.”

By attending this webinar, participants will…

  • Appreciate how their organization’s context (local, national, regional, and global) shapes their leadership programs.
  • Consider how those outside the U.S. have dealt with the erosion of democratic norms in favor of centralized control.
  • Evaluate how ILA’s General Principles might be used to build the collaborative leadership capacity of learners.
