Leaders with true staying power know how to manage in the toughest of times. How do they do it? In this session with leadership expert Jay Conger, you’ll learn how to lead when times are deeply challenging. No one ever said that leadership was easy, but in the most difficult of times you paradoxically have the greatest chance to reach your potential as a leader. But the skills you need are distinctively different from the norm of day-to-day managing. You will learn this critical distinction in this highly engaging session.
This session will help you and your organization address the new realities of a tough economic marketplace. You will learn about the particular leadership challenges that hard times throw at us and how to prepare yourself for them. You will learn how to keep your team motivated, how best to communicate difficult news, how to build an adaptive team and organization, and how to avoid decision traps that occur when fundamental shifts are unfolding in your world. You will also have a chance to look at your own leadership style and explore how you can best leverage it for the greater impact.
