Book Buzz from The International Leadership Association 2023 Global Conference. Author Sadhana W. Hall discusses her book Teaching Leadership: Bridging Theory and Practice.

Teaching Leadership: Bridging Theory and Practice creates the space for educators (teachers, faculty, student affairs professionals, industry trainers, and supervisors) in any sector to examine their philosophy and approach to leadership. It suggests ways in which educators can translate theory into action. It seeks to address important questions that educators face when teaching leadership: Can leadership be taught? Can leadership be learned? Why is it important to teach leadership? What is the intellectual history of the field? How do leadership programs add value to personal and professional growth? What are we doing well programmatically? What gaps do we need to address? What are some techniques that will enhance our teaching of leadership? The thoughts in this book contribute to the educators’ professional development and a richer experience for the leadership learners, inside and outside the classroom (and on and off campus, as well).
