WE Empower Overview
The WE Empower UN SDG Challenge is the first of its kind global business competition for women entrepreneurs who are advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals and inspiring others to follow suit. The WE Empower Challenge annually honors five women entrepreneurs, one from each of the five UN regions. Led in partnership by Vital Voices and Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory at ASU, this program elevates and showcases the valuable contribution women entrepreneurs and business leaders can make toward the SDGs and solving the world’s greatest challenges.
As a Supporting Partner, ILA provides each regional Awardee with an Executive Leadership Coach. The Executive Leadership Coach is an ILA member with significant coaching experience. Past ILA coaches appreciated this incredible opportunity to work with a remarkable woman to help them further develop self-awareness, address leadership challenges, and achieve their goals. Just as important, the Executive Leadership Coaches have grown personally and professionally through the coaching process.
Given the global context and the focus of the WE Empower program, coaching themes extend beyond the traditional coaching engagement and often focus on forging role and developing the voice of women leaders in places and spaces not often occupied by women entrepreneurs. Balancing multiple and sometimes conflicting roles personally and professionally as an award-winning woman entrepreneur is also a theme woven into many of the sessions.
